The Lagos State Police Command has ordered a thorough investigation into allegations of multiple rape and other sexual offences against Pastor Chris Okafor, Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, also known as Liberation Assembly.

According to the police, Okafor reported to the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, at about 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, following a formal invitation served through his legal representative.

The invitation was issued in connection with several complaints bordering on alleged sexual offences and other conduct considered capable of causing a breach of public peace and breakdown of law and order in Lagos State.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, directed the DC SCID to carry out a comprehensive investigation into the allegations and instructed that all procedures be handled professionally and without bias.

CP Jimoh also ordered immediate security protection for alleged victims and encouraged anyone who may have been affected to come forward and report their complaints at the SCID, Panti. The police assured that the identities of victims and witnesses would be kept strictly confidential and adequately protected.

Members of the public with credible information or evidence relevant to the investigation were also urged to cooperate with the police, either through the Police Public Relations Department or directly at the SCID.

The Lagos State Police Command reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order, stressing that no individual is above the law and that all allegations will be investigated in line with due process, without sentiment or favoritism.
