The Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Chris Okafor, on Monday, January 5, failed to honour an invitation extended to him by the Lagos State Police Command.

The police had, on Sunday, January 4, announced that Okafor was invited over allegations bordering on multiple rape and other offences capable of causing a breach of public peace. The statement, signed by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, directed the cleric to appear before the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, by 10:00 a.m. on Monday.

However, Okafor did not appear at the scheduled time and reportedly failed to show up until late at night on Monday.

According to the police, the invitation followed several complaints relating to alleged sexual offences and other actions considered capable of disrupting public order.
