American actor and musician Will Smith has been sued in Los Angeles over allegations of sexual harassment, just days before the New Year.
According to Fox News, the lawsuit was filed by Brian King Joseph, a professional violinist and former America’s Got Talent finalist. Joseph claims Smith deliberately groomed him during his 2025 music tour.
Court documents state that Joseph’s professional relationship with Smith began after a performance in December 2024 and later continued on Smith’s Based on a True Story: 2025 Tour. Joseph alleged that the relationship became increasingly personal, with Smith allegedly telling him they shared a “special connection.”
Joseph further claimed that while on tour in Las Vegas, he noticed signs that someone had entered his hotel room without permission. He said he found a handwritten note addressed to him, alongside personal and medical-related items belonging to someone else. According to him, the discovery left him shaken and fearful, prompting him to report the matter to hotel security and authorities.
The violinist alleged that instead of receiving support, he was later accused of fabricating the incident and was subsequently dismissed from the tour. He also claimed that another violinist was quickly hired to replace him.
In the lawsuit, Joseph is seeking damages for alleged grooming, emotional distress, loss of income, and reputational harm, stating that the situation negatively affected his mental health and career.
As of the time of filing, Will Smith and his representatives have not publicly responded to the allegations.
