Pastor Paul Adefarasin has stated that while he hopes Nigeria never experiences a full-scale war, he is personally prepared if the country ever faces such a scenario.
His remarks come amid a surge in bandit attacks across multiple regions, leading to rising concerns over abductions, killings, and the country’s overall security readiness.
Speaking on the escalating situation, Adefarasin described Nigeria as being caught in a wider clash between global civilizations. He said he remains prayerful that the nation avoids conflict but stressed that he is mentally prepared for any outcome.
He expressed optimism that ongoing diplomatic efforts could help eliminate terrorism in Nigeria but warned that such progress would require strategy, intelligence, and coordinated engagement. At the same time, he cautioned that negotiating directly with terrorists is not advisable.
Adefarasin’s comments reflect growing nationwide anxiety over insecurity and ongoing debates about how prepared Nigeria is for potential escalations.
His full statement reads:
“I certainly hope that Nigeria doesn’t have to go to war, but I’m ready for it. Can’t discuss those things because there is still dialogue going on and it is two civilizations globally fighting, Nigeria is just one of the fronts. I hope the dialogue works and expunge terrorism from Nigeria perpetually. It is going to take a lot of brain and negotiation, but I really don’t think you should negotiate with terrorists.”

The situation is like walking on a very thin ice. Very delicate and disturbing. The terrorists are presently infiltrating Port Harcout and Lagos, according to reports. Tinubu should forget about 2027, and focus on security issues now. If not, there won't be a country to govern in 2027.
